In the 1850s Lord Egerton of Crewe gifted the land known as Scotch Common to the people of Sandbach.
Cheshire East Council are showing a disregard to this gift to the residents of Sandbach and are proposing to make a car park charge.
This decision will also affect local businesses and drive parking onto the free residential areas which surround the Town Centre.
Parking must remain free.
