Minutes:

The Sub Committee considered a report for the application of a new premises licence for The Cheshire Venue, School Farm, Alsager, Hassall, CW11 4SA.

After a full hearing of the application and in accordance with the rules of procedure, the Sub-Committee determined, that after taking account of:

 

  1. The Applicant’s Application dated 10th December 2025 

 

  1. The Applicant’s Supplementary Agenda dated 26th January 2026 

 

  1. The written representations made to the sub-committee by members of the public. 

 

  1. The 4 licensing objectives (namely the prevention of crime and disorder, public safety, the prevention of public nuisance, and the protection of children from harm) and the steps appropriate to promote them. 

 

  1. The oral evidence of Professor Roy Light, on behalf of the Applicant at the hearing. 

 

  1. The oral and written submissions from objectors. 

 

  1. The Licensing Act 2003 & Guidance thereto (Nov 2025). 

 

  1. Cheshire East Council’s Statement of Licensing Policy 

 

The following course of action was agreed:

 

RESOLVED:

 

That the application for a premises licence be GRANTED subject to any mandatory conditions that must be included on the licence in accordance with the Licensing Act 2003, and the sale of alcohol anywhere on the premises be limited to 23:30.
