Hurdsfield Community Centre Macclesfield - Disposal To consider the disposal of Hurdsfield Community Centre for affordable housing purposes. Additional documents: Decision: 1. That approval be given to the disposal of the Property to the Cheshire Peaks and Plains Housing Trust for affordable housing purposes.
2. That the Director of Legal Services be authorised to enter into any licence agreements required to enable the Trust to carry out their due diligence on the Property, and to enter into Heads of Terms and the final contract between the Council and Trust relating to the sale of the Property.
Minutes: The Cabinet Member considered a report which sought approval to dispose of the former Hurdsfield Community Centre, Macclesfield.
The former Hurdsfield Community Centre had been vacant since 2007 and was in a poor state of repair. The property had been identified for inclusion in the Council’s Capital Disposal Programme. The Council had actively marketed the property in September 2015 and had received interest for a variety of uses. A total of four offers were received, with the highest offer being £52,500. As there was a preference for affordable housing to be developed on the site, it was recommended that the offer of £25,000 from Cheshire Peaks and Plains Housing Trust be accepted.
RESOLVED:
1 That approval be given to the disposal of the former Hurdsfield Community Centre to the Cheshire Peaks and Plains Housing Trust for affordable housing purposes.
2 That the Director of Legal Services be authorised to enter into any licence agreements required to enable the Trust to carry out their due diligence on the Property, and to enter into Heads of Terms and the final contract between the Council and Trust relating to the sale of the Property.
