Appointment of Chair

To appoint a Chair for the meeting.

RESOLVED:

 

That Councillor Carol Bulman be appointed as Chair for the duration of the meeting.

To provide an opportunity for Members and Officers to declare any disclosable pecuniary interests, other registerable interests, and non-registerable interests in any item on the agenda and for Members to declare if they have pre-determined any item on the agenda.

The Sub-Committee considered a report for an application for a new premises licence for Sainsbury’s, Newcastle Road, Shavington, Cheshire, CW2 5EB.

 

The following attended the hearing and spoke in relation to the application;

 

Kim Evans, Licensing Team Leader

Amy Scott, Enforcement Officer

Robert Botkai, Applicant Representative

Joanne Surguy, Applicant Representative

 

After a full hearing of the application and in accordance with the rules of procedure, the Chair of the Sub-Committee reported, that after taking account of:

 

1. The application.

2. The written representations made by residents both in support of and in objection to the application.

3. The four licensing objectives (namely the prevention of crime and disorder, public safety, the prevention of public nuisance, and the protection of children from harm) and the steps appropriate to promote them

4. The oral evidence of the Applicant at the hearing.

5. The Licensing Act 2003 & Guidance thereto

6. Cheshire East Council’s Statement of Licensing Policy 

 

RESOLVED:

 

The Sub-Committee determined to grant the application as set out in the Operating Schedule accompanying the application and any mandatory conditions that must be included on the licence in accordance with the Licensing Act 2003.
