To consider a report seeking authority to establish a Partnership Agreement with the South Cheshire Chamber of Commerce and Industry to support the delivery of the business travel planning element of the Local Sustainable Transport Fund programme.

1.    To agree the establishment of a partnership arrangement with the South Cheshire Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCCI).

2.    To authorise the Borough Solicitor or an authorised signatory within Legal Services to sign the Partnership Agreement and to implement and monitor the Agreement until 31 March 2015.

Consideration was given to the establishment of a partnership agreement with the South Cheshire Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCCI) to support the delivery of the business travel planning element of the Local Sustainable Transport Fund programme.

The SCCCI was uniquely placed to facilitate business engagement, joint working and collaboration on travel planning activities in Crewe, with existing networks and partnerships already in place; it would work with the Council’s Project Officer on travel planning activities.

The Portfolio Holder indicated that communication was very important in respect of this matter and was advised that the local ward members for Crewe, and Crewe Town Council, would be updated on the position.

RESOLVED

That approval be given to the establishment of a partnership arrangement with the South Cheshire Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCCI).

That the Borough Solicitor, or an authorised signatory within Legal Services, be authorised to sign the Partnership Agreement and to implement and monitor the Agreement until 31 March 2015.
