Purpose:

The Council conducted a competition through its Housing Development Framework for the development of a housing scheme at the former Hollins View site, Macclesfield which also includes St Barnabas School, Playing field, Poolswood Centre and the Brocklehurst Centre.

 

Cheshire Peaks & Plains Housing Trust Limited submitted a tender on 17 March 2025 which has been evaluated in accordance with the tender documents and determined to be the most economically advantageous tender. Permission was granted on 15th May 2025 to dispose of the former Hollins View site subject to Cheshire East Borough Council and Cheshire Peaks & Plains Housing Trust Limited entering into a Development Agreement. The terms of the Development Agreement were issued with the further competition invitation to tender. Entry into the Development Agreement will allow the Council to dispose of the former Hollins View site and ensure Cheshire Peaks & Plains Housing Trust Limited develop Social Rented and Shared Ownership properties in accordance with their tender response.

Decision:

Following the approval to dispose of the former Hollins View site, Macclesfield (including St Barnabas School, Playing field, Poolswood Centre and Brocklehurst Centre) dated 15th May 2025, to enter into a Development Agreement between Cheshire East Borough Council and Cheshire Peaks & Plains Housing Trust Limited to develop the site known as Hollins View, Macclesfield, Cheshire to develop a mix of Social Rented and Shared Ownership properties.
