Purpose:
Section 21 of the Town Police Clauses Act 1847 provides the power to make orders preventing the obstruction of streets “in all times of public processions, rejoicings, or illuminations, and in any case when the streets are thronged or liable to be obstructed.”
The decision will enable the annual Alsager Carnival to take place in a safe manner and to enable the police and authorised marshals to manage the event.
Decision:
To make a temporary road closure order in relation to the below mentioned roads under section 21 of the Town Police Clauses Act 1847 to close streets listed in the Schedule to the order to enable the Alsager Carnival to take place on Saturday 7 June 2025:
From the junction with Lawton Road to the junction with Church Road
CHURCH ROAD, ALSAGER
From the junction with Crewe Road to the junction with Lodge Road
LODGE ROAD, ALSAGER
