Decision - Significant Officer Decision: Macclesfield Market Refurbishment Construction Phase
Final estimated costs when received exceed the initial estimated maximum contract value, and the available budget. The project has been value engineered in an attempt to address this but a shortfall in the order of £240,000 remains.
In order for this project to proceed it has therefore been necessary to seek additional funding. Authority has been granted for the reallocation of £243,000 of UKSPF to fund the budget shortfall, giving a total available budget of £1,822,500.
This total budget covers, design stage work, committed work by surveys and legal etc leaving an available budget of £1,575,942.88 for the construction contract, including an allowance for risk and contingency.
1. To increase the maximum contract value for the construction phase of the Macclesfield Market Refurbishment project under the contract with F Parkinson Ltd from a previous maximum value of £1,344,930.08 to a contract value of £1,575,942.88 including an allowance for contingency and risk.
2. To draw down funding from the budget approved for this project for the additional contracted construction works.
