SAVE GAWSWORTH GREEN BELT

We the undersigned petition the council to We wish Cheshire East to reject the plans for building houses submitted by ENGINE OF THE NORTH on existing farm land and Green Belt Land on Dark Lane in Gawsworth, Macclesfield Details of the plans -- Cheshire East Planning Website: Application Number: 18/5544M Proposal: development of 10 dwellings as associated infrastructure on land off Dark Lane, Gawsworth, Macclesfield

Cheshire East Council have now submitted a Planning Application for Permission to build HOUSES on GREEN BELT LAND on Dark Lane in Gawsworth adjacent to the Methodist Chapel

If you are concerned about our Village, this housing development and further loss of Green Belt Land in the Village and Parish….. OBJECT NOW!!!

Gawsworth Parish is already losing a significant amount green belt land to housing; at site CS10, entirely in Gawsworth Parish, nearly 400 houses have already been agreed in the Local Plan, plus further land is identified for development in the future.
There is no requirement for additional houses which justifies the destruction of further areas of Green Belt land in the Parish.
The location of the site is on Dark Lane, a road already too narrow for local traffic and pedestrians to use safely and the proposals further narrow a road which is regularly used by agricultural vehicles such as tractors and HGVS
The Housing Needs survey on which the plans are based has been challenged from an ethics and compliance point of view.
Putting residents on the other side of the dangerous A536 does not make sense from a safety point of view.
