The
Sub-Committee will comprise 7 members, on a politically
proportionate basis: 3:3:1 (Conservative: Labour: Independent).
There is also an open invitation to a member of the Liberal
Democrat Group to attend meetings of the Sub-Committee on an
informal non-voting basis, and to contribute to the
Sub-Committee’s debates.
For a
sub-committee of 7 Members, there is a requirement for 2.3 Members
(rounded up to 3) to be present to be quorum.
The
Electoral and Polling District Review Sub-Committee has been
appointed to:
1.
Make recommendations in respect of all matters
relating to the Cheshire East Council Electoral Review in order to
ensure that the Council is best placed to respond to the
Commission’s review of the Council’s electoral
arrangements.
2.
Formally determine all matters relating to the
Polling District Review without any further reference to the
Corporate Policy Committee.
The Polling District Review is
limited in terms of the number of polling districts to be
reviewed

Following a Full Council decision on 27
February 2024, the remit of the Electoral and Polling District
Review Sub-Committee were expanded. Prior to this, the
sub-committee was known as the Electoral Review Sub Committee. The
