To appoint a Chair for the meeting.

RESOLVED:

That Councillor Moran be appointed as Chair for the duration of the meeting.

To provide an opportunity for Members and Officers to declare any disclosable pecuniary interests, other registerable interests, and non-registerable interests in any item on the agenda and for Members to declare if they have pre-determined any item on the agenda.

There were no declarations of interest received.

To consider the above application.

The Sub-Committee considered a report for an application for the renewal of a sex shop licence for the premises known as Temptations, 100 Nantwich Road, Crewe, Cw2 6AT.

The following attended the hearing and spoke in relation to the application;

After a full hearing of the application and in accordance with the rules of procedure, the Chair of the Sub-Committee reported, that after taking account of:

1. The Applicant’s Application.

2. The written representations made and the evidence provided to the sub-committee by a Cheshire East Councillor objecting to the renewal of the licence. 3. The oral evidence of the Applicant at the hearing.

4. The oral evidence of the objector at the hearing.

5. Schedule 3 of the Local Government (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act 1982 (“the Act”).

6. Cheshire East Council’s Policy with regard to the licensing of sex establishments

RESOLVED:

That the application for a Sex Establishment Licence (sex shop) be granted subject to the information contained in the Applicant’s Application Form and the appendices thereto and any mandatory conditions that must be included on the licence in accordance with regulations prescribed under Paragraph 13 of Schedule 3 of the Local Government (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act 1982.
