Exclusion of the Press and Public The reports relating to the remaining items on the agenda have been withheld from public circulation and deposit pursuant to Section 100(B)(2) of the Local Government Act 1972 on the grounds that the matters may be determined with the press and public excluded.

Consideration of Fitness to hold a Joint Hackney / Private Hire Driver Licence To consider the above application. Minutes: The Sub-Committee considered a report regarding whether the license holder remained a fit and proper person to be the holder of a Joint Hackney Carriage/Private Hire Driver Licence.
The licence holder had been the subject of an incivility and over charging complaint and was interviewed under caution with regard to the complaint. The matter was referred to Licensing Sub Committee to determine the future of their Joint Driver licence with Cheshire East Council.
The licence holder and witness both attended the hearing and made representations in respect of the case.
After a full hearing, and in accordance with the rules of procedure, the Chair of the Sub-Committee reported that, after taking account of all the evidence, the following course of action had been agreed.
To suspend the Joint Hackney Carriage and Private Hire Driver Licence for a period of 28 days under section 61 (1) (b) and section 61 (2B) of the Local Government (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act 1976 on the grounds of public safety with immediate effect and require the driver to retake their safeguarding training at their own cost. |
