4 Highway Routine Maintenance Operational Policies

To seek approval for a number of Highway routine maintenance operational policies for Cheshire East.
Minutes:
The Cabinet Member for Environmental Services considered the report of the Head of Regeneration.
The Council in its role as Highways Authority carried out a number of routine maintenance activities:
· Highway Tree Maintenance and Inspections
· Highway Verge Maintenance
· Highway Weed Control
· Highway Hedge Maintenance
· Highway Surface Water
These routine maintenance activities were carried out by the Council for safety and serviceability purposes which, in part, contributed to the Council’s statutory duty under the Highways Act 1980. These activities also contributed to the bio-diversity and sustainability of the highway and surrounding environment.
RESOLVED
That the Highway Routine Maintenance Operational Policiesattached as Appendices A-E to the report be approved for Cheshire East.
