Decision details

Introduction of Residents Parking Schemes

Decision Maker: Cabinet Member for Environmental Services

Decision status: For Determination

Is Key decision?: No

Is subject to call in?: Yes

Decisions:

The Cabinet Member considered a report detailing a number of areas in the former Macclesfield Borough where consultation had taken place in connection with proposed residents’ parking schemes. A number of areas had been identified where there was sufficient support for a residents’ parking scheme to go forward to final design, Traffic Regulation Order production and advertising, prior to implementation (subject to the objection process being satisfactory).

At the meeting, the Officers advised that whilst Paragraph 9 of the report indicated that a further report would be brought before the Cabinet Member in due course to seek approval for the publication of relevant 'notice of proposals', under paragraph 17.2 of Part III of the Constitution, the powers to make decisions in relation to Traffic Regulation Orders were delegated to the Strategic Director Places in consultation with the Cabinet Member.

There would be a further opportunity for local residents to comment on the proposed schemes at the design stage.
