Land at Wilmslow Road, Alderley Edge pdf icon PDF 48 KB

To consider the future use of land off Wilmslow Road, Alderley Edge.

Additional documents:

Decision:

That approval be given to the offer from Alderley Edge Girls School on terms and conditions to be determined by the Director of Economic Growth and Prosperity (or any Officer she may nominate) and the Head of Legal Services.

Minutes:

It was requested that consideration be given to the use of land off Wilmslow Road, Alderley Edge.  Tenders had been sought from interested parties to use the land on the basis of a 50 year lease, to include a restricted user clause enabling the land to be used for defined community, local, economic and social benefits purpose.

The land had been deemed surplus to the Councils highways requirements.  Five offers had been received and the report included a brief description of each.  The review of each offer included adherence of the proposed use to the local plan, financial value, job creation, community benefit and the impact on the economic, social and environmental wellbeing within and around Alderley Edge.

Of the deliverable schemes proposed it was considered that the scheme proposed by Alderley Edge Girls School was the most acceptable.

RESOLVED

That approval be given to the offer from Alderley Edge Girls School on terms and conditions to be determined by the Director of Economic Growth and Prosperity (or any Officer she may nominate) and the Head of Legal Services.
