To consider the recommendations from Corporate Policy Committee.

Consideration was given to the recommendations of the Corporate Policy Committee in respect of the Calendar of Meetings for 2023/24.

The Corporate Policy Committee, at its meeting on 23 March 2023, had considered the draft Calendar of Meetings for 2023/24 and had recommended to Council that the calendar be approved subject to the meeting of Council scheduled for 21 February 2024 be moved to 27 February 2024 to avoid the school half-term break and the General Appeals Sub Committee scheduled for 13 June 2023 be rescheduled to 20 June.

RESOLVED: 

That the draft calendar of meeting for Cheshire East Council for the period May 2023 to October 2024 be approved.

To consider the Calendar of Meetings for 2023-2024.

The Committee considered a report on the Calendar of Meetings for 2023-2024.

Officers reported two changes to the draft calendar:

§  The Council meeting scheduled in the draft calendar for 21^st February 2024 had been rescheduled to 27^th February to avoid the school half-term break.

§  The General Appeals Sub-Committee meeting scheduled for 13^th June 2023 had been rescheduled to 20^th June.

Officers advised that the Constitution Working Group had agreed to undertake a survey of members in the new Council on the question of whether some committee meetings should be moved to evenings.

It was noted that the Cared for Children and Care Leaver Committee may decide to review the start times for its meetings so that some were held in the morning.

That subject to the changes reported at the meeting, the draft calendar of meetings for Cheshire East Council for the period May 2023 to October 2024 be recommended to Council for approval.
