The Safeguarding Children and Adults Portfolio Holder will be responsible for children’s and adults statutory safeguarding. This role provides a monitoring function, and has the capacity to take early action to prevent service failings, to provide impact assessment to minimise risk and to co-ordinate effective communications between partners, providers and Council officers.
This role cuts across nearly all functions of the Council’s work, and all Portfolio Holders and elected members support the Safeguarding Portfolio Holder in their role as corporate parents. This key role is to lead the ‘every child counts’ and ‘every adult matters’ work.
