The children’s travel support review report, presented to children and families committee in November 2022, set out proposals for a three-year transformation and modernisation programme to deliver the review recommendations. The report committed to producing an interim report within six months and annually thereafter. The transformation will require policy changes that will be subject to formal consultation. An update paper will be presented to the children and families committee in March 2023. This will seek approval around initial implementation plans.

This report provides a briefing update on the Department for Education Delivering Better Value programme, which Cheshire East joined in July 2022. The programme is linked to the Dedicated Schools Grant (DSG) management plan.

This report updates on the household support fund 4/5 (HSF4/HSF5) grant awarded to Cheshire East and seeks endorsement of the delivery options proposed in this paper and for the Executive Director of Children’s Services to receive delegated authority from committee.

This report seeks approval to establish a shared marketplace for the future procurement of care and support services across both health and social care for individuals with complex needs, including those individuals in transition to adulthood who have a learning disability and or mental health support needs.
