The Corporate Policy Committee, at its meeting on 11th July 2023, resolved that subject to the Crewe BID proposal receiving a “yes” vote at ballot; the Executive Director for Place should ensure a final review of the BID proposal and determine whether there is any cause to veto the proposals having regard to all relevant matters as prescribed by the BID Regulations; and following that determination to confirm that the Council will not veto the BID proposals or serve a notice to exercise a veto.?

Not to veto the result of the ballot to approve the Crewe Business Improvement District proposal as declared on 1st December 2023.

To formally withdraw both The Cheshire East Council (A500 Dualling Meremoor Moss Roundabout to M6 Junction 16) Compulsory Purchase Order 2023 The Cheshire East Council (A500 Dualling Meremoor Moss Roundabout to M6 Junction 16) (Classified Road) (Side Roads) Order 2023, by submitting them to the Secretary of State for Transport for non-confirmation

To renew the annual service level agreements with Macclesfield Silk Heritage Trust, Nantwich Museum and Congleton Museum for 2024/25.

That the annual service level agreements with museums for 2024/25 be renewed:

1        £86,000 to be paid to the Macclesfield Silk Heritage Trust.

2        £25,000 to be paid to the Nantwich Museum

3        £5,380 to be paid to the Congleton Museum

All payments are subject to the conditions set out within respective service level agreements being met.

The Major Projects strand of National Lottery Project Grants is designed to support cultural projects of scale and ambition that will help to deliver Arts Council England’s third Outcome, A Creative and Cultural Country.

An application to be made for funding which will be used towards significant project development and delivery, including:

·       A Cultural Step Change project in Crewe that will bring together key partners to deliver a programme of activities and events in Crewe.

·       A programme that will deliver long lasting positive change through creating opportunities for artists, creative businesses, young people and families to experience high quality culture and access creative skills development.

·       Specific activity will include development of a visual arts hub, utilising empty space in Crewe Town Centre to provide much needed exhibition, workshop and selling space for artists, a maker festival and support for further events in the Town.

That an application be made to the Arts Council England for Strategic Major Funding of c£200,00 and up to a maximum of £300,000, to support the development of a significant culture led partnership project in Crewe.
